Abstract | This paper discusses an experiment to investigate issues of trust and confidentiality when sharing information with a robot companion in an office context. A first phase is reported in which an online questionnaire was used to collect general opinions about information sharing with a robot companion as well as preferences regarding collection and treatment of information. We then present a live interaction study in which test subjects role-played new members of an office team and ex- changed potentially sensitive information with the robot companion concerning other team members. We discuss the evaluated results and their implications for handling information sharing with a robot companion in an office situation. Finally we suggest generic improvements for HRI systems used for information exchange. |
