Re: Hardware: Camera

Dear Ginevra, dear Kheng Lee,

I do agree with the mentioned camera features requirements. Just two more:

- Moto-zoom lens with possibly wide viewing angle in W mode
- Pan-tilt servo (at least 180deg pan, +- 30deg tilt)

The servo found by Kheng Lee (PTU-D46-17) looks good.

I found a lens, which could fit our needs (although its size could make
problems):

To be honest, there are two more drawbacks:
- Estimated price: 4k UK Pounds (!).
- Probably without motor controllers.

Alternatively, we could consider a complete firewire zoom camera:
DFK 31AF03-Z (770 EUR)
http://www.theimagingsource.com/en/products/zoom_cameras/firewire_color/...
1af03z/overview/
Unfortunately, in standard color mode it guarantees only 15fps,
but
DFK 21AF04-Z gives 30/60 fps at 640x480 resolution (570 EUR).

Kind regards,
Marek
