LIREC to hire industry dissemination leader (evangelist)

Overview of tasks:
- Promote and disseminate knowledge about the LIREC project
- Target possible industry and end-users
- Support interactions between the research team and industry
- Attend a number of agreed trade events on behalf of LIREC lead research
- Provide reports on a monthly basis to the LIREC coordinator
- Budget management

Description and purpose of activities:
Often in industry, academics are not seen as fully understanding the issues faced by commercial concerns. To overcome this perceived hurdle and ensure the research results are communicated to industrial partners in view of knowledge and technology transfer, LIREC is looking for a skilled and experienced evangelist with industrial expertise or knowledge around the areas of robotics, artificial intelligence, digital and physical companions and other connected research.
You will be provided with a panorama of all the LIREC developments with the contact of the researchers who work on them. You will be required to bridge the gap between research and industry by linking personally industrials and researchers, making connections that would be otherwise difficult to make.

The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience of industry and trade shows
- Be an established speaker
- Be independent and organised
- Have a broad knowledge of robotics and artificial intelligence
- Be based in Europe and free to travel across the EU

Contract:
Type: part-time subcontractor
Duration: 18 months (April 2010 – September 2011)
The total budget for this project is 20000 Euros. (This should cover consultancy fees, conference fees, travel and accommodation)
