| Abstract | In this paper, we propose an empathic model for a social robot that acts as a chess companion for children. The model will attempt to recognize some of the user’s affective states (interest, boredom and frustration), by combining information retrieved from facial and body expression recognition systems with contextual features of the game (e.g., who is winning, for how long...). We further present a set of possible empathic behaviours that the agent can perform when the user is experiencing such affective states. |
