AbstractIdentified some dimensions of agents: agent features, user characteristics and the features of the task (context!) Manipulated agents appearance (lifelike vs iconic) and nauture of task.. Perception of agent influenced by nature of users task- providing opinions or procedural - while features oif agent had little effect. 2nd study manipulated intiiative apsects of agents (proactive/reactive). Particpants preferred proactive agents, though initiative had little effect on task performance. Proposed a framework for Evaluation which can be used as a three factor prototype for evaluation of robots. Our evaluations fall quite nicely into these three factors!
