| Abstract | Has created rating scales for robots and computer based nachines from several sources including Handbook of Human Factors Design; (Woodson et al., 1992), the Big Five Inventory (personality measure) (Jophn et al;., 1991) and intelligence evasluation items (Warner and Sugarmen, 1986) to create 2 questionaires. One rating machine-like, the otrher human-like. The resultant factor analysis led to five scales to be used to rate peoples mental models of robots (machine/humanlike-ness): Efficiancy, Mantenance, Durabilty, Safety and Infoprmation Technology. |
